Rules of Supervision


There should be no one set of rules for specific type of people, we need to abide by an accepted norm and code of conducts:
  1. Uphold an individual's right to dignity, self-development, and self-direction. 
  2. Accept supervision and support from professional staff while involved in the program.
  3. Accept the responsibility to represent their individual program and any other program with dignity and pride by being positive mentors for youths, peers, colleagues, and juniors with whom they work and relate to. 
  4. Conduct themselves in a courteous and respectful manner, exhibit good sportsmanship and provide positive role models for all youth. 
  5. Respect, adhere to, and enforce the rules, policies and guidelines established by their individual program, and any other program(s). 
  6. Abide by and not abuse any participant by physical or verbal means and will report such abuse, if observed. 
  7. Not commit a felonious criminal act. 
  8. Comply with equal opportunity and without any discrimination.. 
  9. Perform duties in a responsible and timely manner. 
  10. Report immediately any threats to the emotional or physical well-being, to the assigned professional. 
  11. Accept the responsibility to promote and support in order to develop an effective neighborhood, community, district and national program. 
  12. Handle animals and operate machinery, vehicles and other equipment in a responsible manner.
SUPERVISION is through PROVIDING SERVICES to
  1. Convicted drug offenders;
  2. Released Inmates (from prison);
  3. Discharged residents (from DRC),
  4. Court-convicted drug consumption cases,
  5. Voluntary & Employer Referrals.
UNDERGOING
  • Mandatory reporting for supervision of illicit drug cases;
  • Voluntary reporting for supervision of illicit drug cases;
  • Mandatory reporting for supervision of abusing intoxicating substances;
  • Administrative reporting for supervision of first-known cases involving: 
    • possession of small amounts of illegal drugs;
    • positive result of urine screening;
    • possession of (drug) utensils.
Upon satisfactory supervision, the investigation officer may recommend not to take legal action against current pending case of illegal possession of illicit drugs and drug utensils/instruments and consumption.
Types of Services provided:
  1. Orientation, family support discussions; 
  2. Supervisory, urine specimen taking and analysis, home visits, interviews with close family members, welfare coordination/assistance;
  3. Individual, Family and Group Counseling Sessions;
  4. Individual and Group Peer Support;
  5. Psychological assessments, evaluations and referrals;
  6. Aftercare: team building, Islamic religious knowledge, life skills, motivation, discipline, outward bound, center-based development.
in some cases with collaboration of external agencies or institutions.
Supervision may be provided for a period of between 6 and 24 months, at an approved institution by qualified and professional staff.


Supervision professionals and service provider staff should be trained, knowledgeable, committed and skilled in the handling of illicit drug addicts at the same time exercise integrity, discipline, good self-esteem, judgmentally appropriate and acceptable, role model quality, have good public relations capacity and skillful in parenting, communications and anger and stress management. They should preferably have social work skills and access to service providers in counseling, psychology, peer support groups, welfare institutions, aftercare facilities/centers and other resources.
